Christmas in July Part 2

I almost never buy card kits, but I couldn't resist this adorable snow globe kit from Queen & Co.  I paired the kit with some  Bo Bunny paper - Midnight Frost, and coordinating double dot.  The shaker contains Queen & Co. toppings in blue and white, as well as some iridescent snowflake sequins.

The kit has the snowman and penguin stamps as well as the sentiment.  I colored the snowman and penguin with Copics.  The project was so quick and easy and I am delighted with the results.

Christmas in July Part 1

I love Christmas!  (What crafter doesn't?)  I have been working on my Christmas cards for this year and I will spend the next few posts sharing a few of them with you.  Unlike many of my crafty friends, I don't make 50 of just one card.  I get too bored doing that.  So I make a variety of cards every year. I might make 10 of one card or only 1 or 2 of another.  By the time I'm done I have quite a variety and approximately 60 cards to send out.

My favorite cards are interactive cards.  I bought a few Karen Burniston dies at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in June.  I love them!  The first one I played with is the Christmas Tree Pop up card.  It makes the cutest cards!  The paper is a Bo Bunny set - Merry & Bright.  For these cards you create the inside first.  There is a dies that cuts tabs into the actual card and then the tree is glues to those tabs.  Once that is done you can cover those wholes in the card and complete the front and back.

The tree is cut from green cardstock.  The pieces interlock, so very little glue is needed.  The same is true for the star on the top.  It just gets glued to the tree.
The tree folds very nicely into the card.  Karen Burniston has some wonderful videos on You-Tube that I found extremely helpful in creating my card!  I finished the card by embossing both the Merry Christmas on the front and the sentiment (Kaisercraft) on the inside.

Merry Monday Challenge

This week the Merry Monday Challenge was to create a card in just red and white. I love this challenge!  Cards done in red and white look so clean and elegant.  So here is my card for the red and white challenge.

The wreath was die cut out of metallic red paper using the Kaisercraft sketch circle. Merry Christmas is a Stampin Up stamp which was embossed with red glitter embossing powder. The snowflake die and embossing folder are also from Stampin Up.

Love in 3D

Today's card uses the popular  eclipse technique to give dimension to the card. The use of a stamping platform is very helpful for this card.

I stamped 2 copies of the flowers onto my card stock, using my stamping platform.  One I colored using Copic markers and the other I left black and white.  The colored flowers were used to cut out my letters on the Cricut.  Pop the letters up using foam squares and align over the black and white base.

This created and very quick and easy card perfect for an anniversary , Valentines days etc!

Best of 2017

I'm very excited!  Yesterday I found out that one of my cards was included in the Splitcoast Stampers Best of 2017.  Here's the card that was selected:

As a high school teacher, I am the advisor to 16-20 students.  Come graduation time,  I am always scrambling to make cards for my seniors  This shaker card was made using the fuse tool to make the shaker.  The graduation cap and diploma are cut from Taylored Expressions dies. The custom paper that makes the background of the shaker is from Stamping Station.  The embossed Class of 2017 stamps are from The Stamps of Life.

This was 1 of only 2 cards that I posted to Splitcoast Stampers last year.  I am going to have to post more often this year,!

Lip Balm Tags

Just wanted to show you the little tags I added to my children's gifts this year.  These little lip balm tags were so easy to make.

I used the My Favorite Things Lip Balm pouches, window and frame dies and the Sending Smooches stamp set.
The tag itself was cut on the Cricut, with the base being 110 lb card stock, and then the same tag cut from Bo Bunny Candy Cane Lane. Cut the window out of the plaid and then cut a frame out of a contrasting paper.

Add a saying from Sending Smooches stamps and embellish.  I had a set of 8 done in no time!

I wish all my cards and pages went so quickly.

Happy Scrapping.
